    Tamas Kocsis, Violin, Leader, Concert Master

    After making his debut on Hungarian Radio at the age of eleven, Tamas Kocsis made over a dozen solo and chamber music recordings for them in the following years. In addition to performances in his native Hungary, he appeared with orchestra and in recital throughout Europe, particularly in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania and Switzerland.

    Prior to his 2010 appointment as Leader of the Ulster Orchestra, Tamas Kocsis held concertmaster positions with the orchestras of Fort Worth, Orlando, Savannah, as well as the summer festivals of Breckenridge, Colorado Springs and Crested Butte. He has also served as guest concertmaster of the Charleston, Tampa, Vancouver (Canada) and Melbourne (Australia) orchestras.

    With the Italian pianist Fabio Bidini, Tamas has recorded the Brahms Violin Sonatas and Piano Quartets, available on the EPR Encore label. His most recent release, an album of music by British composer Cecelia McDowell, was released in 2012 on the Dutton Epoch label.
