The year 1885 was an important year in our history. It was the year of the 1st Irish Home Rule Bill which came to dominate our political landscape, to this day. It was also the year when the Ulster Reform Club opened its doors at 4 Royal Avenue. The period from 1885 until 1925 was of special historical significance when in 1925 the Boundary Commission finally determined the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Free State.
The Club’s Historical Society plans to have a series of talks on these interesting events and to discuss how did our Reform Club react to these political developments?
The Club’s Historical Society invites all members of the Club to make suggestions for events that might add to the celebration of our 140th anniversary this year.
