    Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot at Foymore Lodge Country Pursuits

    Format

    Arrive at 2:30pm for refreshments, induction and safety instructions

    • Shoot commences at 3pm

    • BBQ from 5pm followed by prize distribution

    Cost:

    • Novices –individual instruction followed by paired 20-bird competition - £37.50

    • Regulars – 50-bird mixed sporting shoot - £47.50

    • Prices inclusive of all refreshments, clays, cartridges and prizes

    Dress:

    • Warm casual

    Closing date for entry will be Friday, 1st June by when all payments should be received by the General Office. No refunds can be given after this date.

    This year’s shoot will return to Foymore Lodge Country Pursuits, Portadown. These grounds have over fifty acres of mature land, offering challenging layouts to ensure strong competition and a variety of targets.

    Novices will receive individual coaching from SCTA qualified shooting instructors, culminating in a paired shoot-off competition. Foymore Lodge has a specially designed layout for the novice and emphasis will be placed on technique, which, coupled with tuition, will ensure that even an absolute beginner will successfully hit moving targets.

    Regular shooters will face a challenging 50-bird mixed sporting competition.

    The extensive grounds have allowed the establishment and development of a very varied set up, including targets such as driven pheasants, incoming and outgoing birds, tricky crossers and high tower clays.

    Tea, coffee and scones will welcome our Members and guests to Foymore Lodge, and a BBQ afterwards will ensure a great day out is had by all. This venue, complete with its unique layout, will satisfy even the most competitive shooter. The opportunity for Members to triumph overall and win the Wylie Cup Perpetual Trophy, will undoubtedly guarantee a lively and hearty conclusion.

    Members may enter teams of four or we will assemble teams of four upon arrival.

    Hog Roast

    Format

    BBQ available from 7.00pm

    Due to popular demand, Hog Roast returns this year. The format will be broadly similar to prior years – a pig on a spit on the Veranda, complete with salads, breads and beer!

    This will be an informal BBQ-style event and an inexpensive and fun opportunity for Members to bring along guests on what will hopefully be a traditionally beautiful NI summer evening.

    We are pleased to advise of this annual event, which will be held in the Dining Room, in addition to our regular daily menu.

    Cocktails in the City

    Cocktails & Nibbles served: 4pm through 6.30pm, Last order for drinks circa 7pm

    Why not end the week in style with a specially mixed cocktail in the Members’ Bar and take advantage of the afternoon sunshine (optimism!) on our flower-filled veranda?

    An array of cocktails and interesting nibbles will be available to Members and their guests from 4pm. Alternatively, if a G&T is more your thing then feel free to simply call in for a drink, as full bar service will also be available.

    The dress code for this event will be relaxed to smart casual from 4pm and the bar will remain open until 7pm.

    by Rademon Estate.

    Annual Golf Competition- The Stirling Cup - Belvoir Park Golf Club

    Format

    The Tee has been booked from 10.30am to 11.30am for 30 players. Playing will be in a fourball or threeball format. Scoring will be Stableford playing off full handicaps.

    Dinner will be served at 5.00pm after which the Stirling Cup and the visitors’ prize will be presented by the Club President, Andy Wells.

    The cost per person for golf and dinner will be £65 per person, apart from BPGC Members for which the cost of dinner will be £30. The fees will be collected on the day by Michael Copeland and Alan Moneypenny.

    Further Information

    Ulster Reform Club Members may compete for the Stirling Cup, first presented to the Club on St. Patrick’s Day 1925 by JH Stirling, and played for annually ever since.

    This is an excellent opportunity for Club Members to entertain guests in fourballs or simply to come along and play with other Members.

    10th Anniversary of Culture Night

    Format

    As Belfast’s Culture Night explodes on our doorstep, on this, its 10th anniversary, the House, Sports & Social Committee has decided to open informally for Members and guests to step away from the maelstrom and enjoy the oasis that is our Club.

    Format:

    2 choice fork buffet with a glass of Club wine; food offer available 6-8pm
