We are delighted to invite members to an exclusive evening, featuring a captivating talk by Peter Forbes, one of the foremost speakers on the life and legacy of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Blair Mayne, legendary founder of the SAS.

Peter, a veteran Mathematics teacher of 33 years, has spent over a decade researching and presenting on Mayne’s remarkable life — from his sporting triumphs on the rugby field to his daring exploits in wartime. His insights have been sharpened through close collaboration with bestselling author Damien Lewis, who has written three books about Blair Mayne, (SAS Brothers in Arms, SAS Forged in Hell and SAS Daggers Drawn). He also partnered Damien in a talk in Newtownards to raise money for local Museum, War Years Remembered. Through his work on Blair, Peter has formed friendships with the families of Blair Mayne, Billy Hull, and Eoin McGonigal.

Peter’s talk, "Vita Leonis" (The Life of a Lion), has captivated audiences across the UK and beyond, including a recent event in Scotland which raised over £11,000 for the veterans' charity Who Dares Cares.
