The annual exhibition of the Royal Ulster Academy opens on 18 October. This is a showcase of the best in art, covering painting, sculpture, photography and craft. Each year the entries increase and the task of making the final cut gets harder. We are fortunate to have a special viewing for our members. Dan Dowling, former president of the RUA, has again agreed to give us his unique take on the work on show.

We will meet in the foyer of the Ulster Museum at 10.45 before going up to the gallery to meet Dan.

I hope you will all join us for lunch in the Reform Club afterwards.
